1. Unboxing pen from Nicola Fisher and Chris Fisher, the Blind Woodturner
Recently @nicolafisher picked an entry of mine here on NotePD to qualify for receiving a free pen created by her husband, Chris Fisher, the Blind Woodturner. What wonderful craftsmanship! How good it feels in my hand with heft to it, not like these featherweight mass-produced bits of office supply flotsam I mostly use. (You can read Chris's newsletter, too.) Take a look at this:
It came in a velvet-cover black box stout enough to serve as a permanent home.
I like a pen with some heft to it. This one is just the right weight! I'm slightly concerned about getting refills since I live across the pond from where it was birthed, but I'll cross that bridge when I have to burn it. I'm not likely to carry it around and use it a lot, because I'm too afraid of losing it!
