Life Is One Big Dopamine Rush.

We are more depressed, anxious, suicidal, and addicted than we've ever been before.
A high dopamine level can lead to more risk-taking, addictive behaviors, and mental disorders.
.....some high-dopamine people thrive on making money while others turn to extreme sports. - both make you more prone to addictive behavior.

    1. The relentless pursuit of pleasure and avoidance of pain, leads to pain.

The pendulum of that which you pursue will eventually swing back your way.

    2. Our culture is aiding and abetting us to constantly pursue more pleasure. FOMO

We're more competitive and aggressive than ever before.

We have poor impulse control and the smallest things set us off.

We're uncooperative and less sympathetic with our brothers.

    3. Symptoms of excess dopamine

You need dopamine in just the right doses.

Too little dopamine will leave you feeling unmotivated, blah, and joyless.

But too much can wreak havoc on your life in many destructive ways.

According to Anna Lembke, MD, the three things that make anything more addictive and lead us into becoming "adrenaline junkies" is quantity, novelty, and potency.

Quantity - We now have an infinite quantity to choose from.

Novelty - we have an endless supply of the new or unusual.

Potency (enormous) - the dopamine hits have the right amount of the "drug" required to produce the unintended consequence of needing more.
