Modern Action Figure Ideas
This is a draft from two years ago... and there are only two items, but they made me giggle a bit this AM, so I'm running with it... feel free to add your thoughts!
Thinking about my GI Joe collection. Back in the day, soldiers were heroes.
If Hasbro was creating a line of action figures today, what are some ideas. I'm excluding action figures inspired by movies, graphic novels (comics...) or other already existing characters.
What, then, would inspire action figures based on Western society today?
1. Extreme Athletes
The action figures could have limbs which "break" on certain impacts, etc./ I remember my brother had the Evel Knievel motorcycle. The action figure was basically rubber, so he survived many jumps, including that one time from the open second floor window...
2. Politicians
You'd have the "good" and "bad" guys. Only problem is they'd have no articulation so they couldn't do anything but take up space, and a non-stoppable talking feature. Accessories could include gallows, 2500 page bills, pork barrels, and clothing would have deep back pockets for taking bribes.
