My favourite books about writing

    1. Vein of Gold by Julia Cameron

The Artist's Way is great but Vein of Gold really resonated for me. I think, because it was in some way about essence, truth and tapping into our potential. The story about Kevin Kline has always stuck with me.

    2. The Right to Write by Julia Cameron

    3. Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg

I've had this one a long time. My version was published in 1986. Looking back, it's strange to think I contemplated writing in some way because, for a long time, I never believed I was, in any shape or form, a writer. But, if I did buy this book in 1986, it came on the heels of living in Paris. Where I frequented Shakespeare & Co, walked in the footsteps of great writers, was a part time au pair to the three children of a journalist, and knew an aspiring American writer. Some of it probably rubbed off on me.

    4. Wild Mind by Natalie Goldberg

    5. Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

I've had this since around the mid to late 1990s. It looks like a US version, probably purchased during the early days of Amazon.

    6. Stephen King on Writing

A more recent acquisition. Still reading this one.

    7. The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

I think all of Steven Pressfield's books are brilliant. But this was the first one I read.
