My Kind Of Love Song

The music, the lyrics, the vocals, everything about this is great.

It's a song about nostalgia, you make excuses for all the bad, so that in such a way everything seems great. It's a song about being jealous and loving someone that's clearly not right for you, but despite that, I love this song.

I first hear this from a cover band the other week and instantly loved it.

Another nostalgic song. It doesn't even seem like it was about a relationship, a short friendship at best, but the love shines through in the song. I've met many girls from Mars in my time.

A song about death. How romantic.

I love this. It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. A story about the stupidity of young love. This songs about passing away not long after your love and keeping them company on the other side. I don't agree with the message, but the way it's song in a lullaby type fashion just makes it beautiful.

Next time forever. A song about breaking up.

It doesn't hit in the same way as the others, but in high school this was my goto love song. Lullaby mixed with punk. Love it.

One of my favourite ska songs.

The lyrics are simple, but it makes me happy. It's a hopeful song about wanting to get back home to the one you love. Another one of my high school favourites.

One of my all time favourite songs.

I managed to see this live in 2019, in LA. It was amazing. A night I'll never forget. This is a song about dying happily. Looking back on all the good times and loving life. That's how I'd like to go. I think that's how we'd all like to go to be fair, looking back and knowing your life was awesome.

A hidden gem.

I can't remember how I first came across these guys, but I thank god I did. Love this band and this song always hits right to the heart. Another one about breaking up, but admitting you're wrongs before hand. I love the music in this.

A love song about a video game.

A song about growing old, but not together. I like that even if your whole lives where apart would you come together to be with them as they pass on. I seem to have a thing for songs about death.

This list ended up being harder than I thought.

I think we all see ourselves as 'dirtbags' from time to time, especially in high school. What I love about this is it shows you that even people you view as perfect are just as screwed up as us. Reminds me of Scott Adams - Basket Case Theory.'Things look best when you know the least.'

I need to listen to more love songs, or maybe there just isn't that many good ones. I thought this list would be easy, but I've been working on it for over an hour. Then again I've listened to some nice music so I can't complain. I get to sleep happy.
