My nonprofit
Just saw a girl for the Boston Marathon bombing started her own nonprofit.
Right now mine its just me giving money to a few org that align with my values. But it would really cool if I could formalize the org, grow it and give more money away.
1. Give time and money
Volunteering and getting people involved is just as important as actually giving money.
2. Give money away annually
To orgs that are making a difference.
3. Board of directors
I like the idea of getting other people involved.
4. Growing the giving amount each year
Grow the foundation like the business.
5. Measure the outcome
Is the time and money actually making a difference?
6. Are the causes you are supporting using the money wisely?
Is the money going to the cause.
7. Boots on the ground
Focus on a few things you can make a big difference on.
8. Get more people involved
Get volunteers and people excited about your mission.
9. The issues I care about
- Global child poverty
- Funding entrepreneurs
- Land and sea climate change or reversing it
- Animals
- US veterans orgs
- Breast cancer
- Mentoring in the community
