Productive tasks to do on public transport (phone only)

We all use public transport (some more than others), and on a busy train/bus/tram where there's only standing room, sometimes having a laptop isn't a viable solution

    1. Make a list of ten ideas

Every morning, make a list of ten ideas. Don't judge them. Just write down whatever comes to mind.

    2. Write a novel (or screenplay or short story)

    3. Make a chart of something

For instance, make a chart of all the US Presidents. Or the world's most valuable companies or something like that.

    4. Learn to juggle

I've been practicing for the past week and I'm getting better!

    5. Learn to draw something really well

Like an apple, or a tree, or anything really simple. The point is to practice every day so you get better at it.

    6. Check your stocks every morning before you start work and then again when you get home from work.

See if there are any patterns that emerge in your stocks that can help inform your investing decisions in the future.

    7. Learn chess openings (or other games) by watching YouTube videos and then playing against someone else on public transport.

There are many good chess players on Youtube who teach different opening moves for beginners and intermediate players. And then you can challenge someone on lichess (or similar sites).

    8. Do Sudoku puzzles during the commute home from work

Then do harder ones when you're able to solve these easily enough
When I was working full-time I used to do sudoku puzzles during my lunch break until I could solve them in less than five minutes (which is pretty fast)
It's good brain exercise and helps with pattern recognition skills which are important for chess, investing, etc

    9. Listen to audiobooks while commuting instead of looking at screens for part of the day (if possible)

Sometimes I listen to two books back-to-back on my way home from work so it's almost like having an extra day off
It's also good brain exercise since you have to remember all the characters and plots as they switch between books but you don't have any visual aids since it's just an audio book being read by someone else (and not me!)
