Sharpening The Saw

Stephen Covey says in his book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" that you should sharpen your saw before you start felling a tree. So work on inner obstacles and improve your own tools.

Here are some ideas on how I could write regularly and get better at it.

The imperative is addressed to myself. ;-)

I also found the following tip by Teal Swan inspiring: "Don't take action until there's alignment between your opposing parts."

    1. Start a long-term project that you can work on constantly, like other people build a house on weekends and after work.

    2. Read good novels and take notes.

    3. Improve your diet.

    4. Start writing short stories again.

    5. Call yourself "writer" instead of "copywriter".

    6. Take long walks and let your mind wander.

    7. Find better ways to revise your writing.

    8. Collect tips from successful authors.

    9. Keep a record of how much you write and what you do exactly.

    10. When you encounter inner resistance, find out where it's coming from.
