Skip The Line - Chapter 17 - Exit The Line

The programming is so strong and deeply entrenched in the minds of most that even when you provide them with hard data and social proof, familiarity will overrule it. We have been programmed since we were kids about how and why to be "in the line" that the idea of exiting the line frightens us.

Most of you have probably heard some version of this story before.
“A farmer is sitting on his porch in a chair, hanging out.
A friend walks up to the porch to say hello, and hears an awful yelping, squealing sound coming from inside the house.
"What's that terrifying sound?" asks the friend.
"It's my dog," said the farmer. "He's sitting on a nail."
"Why doesn't he just sit up and get off it?" asks the friend.
The farmer deliberates on this and replies:
"Doesn't hurt enough yet.”

    1. Plan B. The only reason you need a Plan B is because Plan A is not foolproof. The One Thing didn't sell millions of copies talking about a Plan B. Action Step: Be so good they can't ignore you and you won't need a Plan B.

    2. Don't try to get new clients - Provide more services to old clients. Action Step: There are many spokes that sprout from the hub of a wheel and it's up to us to discover what they are and capitalize on them.

    3. Antifragility - "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." Friedrich Nietzsche. Action Step: Bloom where you're planted....now that's admirable.
