Some Thoughts On Evolution
1. Advancement is subjective
Both the protozoa and we humans have so far been successful in surviving. No life form is per se "higher" than the other. If one day we meet extraterrestrials who are intellectually superior to us, that is no reason for a crisis of meaning.
2. The principle of evolution is powerful, but it doesn't explain everything
In his experiments on the evolution of cooperation, the political scientist Robert Axelrod found the most effective strategies for different scenarios through the use of mutation and selection.
However, some organs, such as a bird's wing, are virtually useless unless they are perfectly formed. Did they have immediate predecessors before they became useful through mutation?
3. The basic principle is the adaptation and transfer of knowledge
