Songs about places in the US

I'm trying to write a song where the premise is I am homesick for a lot of different places that I've never been but only have heard of in songs.

Hey there! As someone who loves music and has traveled quite a bit, I can definitely relate to the feeling of being homesick for places you've never been but have only heard of in songs. It's amazing how music can transport us to different places and evoke such strong emotions. I love the examples you mentioned, especially "Georgia on My Mind" and "Sweet Home Alabama." Have you ever thought about incorporating elements of these songs into your own music? It could be a cool way to pay homage to these places that you're dreaming of visiting. Keep on creating!

It reminds me of two songs in particular from Canadian country / folk singer Stompin Tom Connors:
C-A-N-A-D-A and
Name the Capital.
Although it sounds like something from an educational kids TV show, Tom recorded it ( with some chorus help) and put it on the charts.
