Strength training without equipment
1. Calisthenics
Remember high school gym class?
2. Deck of cards
Assign each suit an exercise (Spades = push ups, diamonds = burpees, etc.)
Then go through the deck one card at a time.
3. Chores
It is surprising how much of a work out you can get hauling groceries, carrying laundry, etc.
4. Hand tools
Hand saw, brace & bit, hand mixer, whisk, etc. all build strength.
5. Use sheets
linen can be used as support or suspension off door frames, pipes, etc.
You can then do leg presses, arm curls, etc using gravity as the resistance.
6. Water is heavy.
At 8lbs /gallon. Water is heavy. Any amount of curls, lifts, extensions, etc can be performed with a few gallon jugs.
7. Chopping wood
This also falls under chores but deserves a distinct listing. Even if you don’t have a wood stove, you know someone who does. The wood pile is also great for your mental health. Try it.
