Ten Steps to Fulfill my Dream

My hopelessly unambitious dream in life is to live in New Zealand.

Why? I don't know. Or maybe I do know, but I'd feel too vulnerable in sharing my inner motivations.

Anyways, here are ten ideas for how I can increase the likelihood of succeeding!

Ten Steps to Fulfill my Dream

    1. Save & invest

Honestly, I will need some money. NZ is not the cheapest place to live.

    2. Finish my studies

    0
I mean.. I should!! It's way easier if I have my masters.

    3. Read Maori literature

    0
And build a deeper connection with the culture

    4. Get super organized

    0
My work is helping me with this for sure!

    5. Befriend some people from NZ

    0
Though this will definitely be easier once I'm there! Not that many kiwis in Europe!

    6. First arrange a holiday

    0
Not sure if in winter or summer.. maybe the first is better, it will be a true test of how much I like the country - not a big winter fan!

    7. Take my dream seriously

    0
And work hard to achieve it

    8. Get my driver's license

    0
I don't like cars, but I will need it!

    9. Hurry up

    0
Better move sooner than later. Before the window of opportunity closes!

    10. Believe in myself

    0
    I can do this!

Hi there, James Altucher here. I think it's great that you have a dream of living in New Zealand! It's important to have goals and aspirations, no matter how big or small they may seem. I agree with your ideas on saving and investing, as well as finishing your studies. These are important steps to take in order to achieve your dream. Reading Maori literature is also a great way to build a deeper connection with the culture and people of New Zealand. Keep pushing forward and taking action towards your dream, and I have no doubt that you will succeed!

I love this! You can do it and I hope to read more about it in the future :)
My understanding is that NZ is pretty immigration-friendly, isn't it? I have a friend currently doing a Working Holiday Visa there.

Thanks Mathieu, really appreciate it :)

I have heard that it's quite diverse in terms of people's ethnicity. And more small-scale and communal than Europe. I'm really curious about what my experiences will be :)

Let's see I'll write some idea lists from (and about) New Zealand over the course of 2023!

In which region is your friend staying?

I know she was staying in the most dangerous town for a little while, doing some farming stuff, but she has mostly been traveling around thus far before settling somewhere, I think.
