Ten Things I Don't Spend Money On For Myself
Was just wondering what I haven't really indulged in during my time on this rock... may do the list of things I do spend on later.
1. Car(s) As Anything Other Than Transportation
Been driving Corollas since '05. When I had to get a replacement right before the COVID lockdowns (transmission needed replaced), I got a 2016 used. The kid always asks why I don't get a "cooler" car. Nah. Just need to get from here to there and back.
2. Haircuts
Started with a buzz cut during COVID lockdowns. Bought good hair clippers (Wahl) and have done my own hair ever since.
3. Booze
When I had my DVT and was on blood thinner, doctor said no booze. When I finished on the blood thinner, I really didn't want to go back. When our son turns 21, I'll have a drink with him.
4. Watches
Have my Fitbit (Versa 2), and a Timex JIK. Do have a couple timers for football, but they are for that 'work.'
5. "Fancy" Clothes
The extent of my spend these days are Land's End shirts (may buy two at a time of a color/pattern I like), Dockers slacks, and getting my three suits tailored if need be (but rarely).
6. Power Tools
Not very handy, so what I have are hand-me-downs from Dad. Know how to use them, and have done so a few times, but only if I have to.
7. Jewelry
Wear my wedding ring, have my fraternity ring somewhere, but no other jewelry. Not my thing.
8. Shoes
Have three pairs I wear to work, and a couple way back in the closet for when I have to wear a suit.
9. Game Consoles
If I want to play a game, its a retro game on a browser. Or I buy for the PC (currently one - Flight Simulator).
10. Restaurants
For special occasions, and the occasional times we go out with friends, yes. But routinely no. We do order in once a week, which was supposed to be for "movie night" but now is just to get the son something to eat.
