Ten Things I've Done / Plan To Do With AI

From time to time, I get caught up in trying different supplements, needed a "reality check" about the value of what I'm taking, if there was duplication, and the cost. Uploaded the nutritional statements from all of them, my personal data, and got a plan which has reduced the cost, eliminated excess, and also helped convert to liquid supplements where possible.

For a building project we're doing, he wanted us to get into a merchant cash advance ("sale of future revenue") program. I knew it was a very bad option, so used AI to calculate what the effective annual interest rates would be on two of these programs - both were 300%. He gave up on it.

Boss is updating company employee handbook. The software he used put in text about sick time in New Jersey that was completely contrary to the law (we have been in compliance since it started, as I set it up that way in our payroll app). Had AI compare the change to the law, and prepare text that would be in compliance.

The wife is already Medicare eligible, signed up but not using it because she's on my work health policy. I'm eligible in January (and actually need to sign up this month). My family coverage will be very expensive next year. I had ChatGPT advise how I could propose us coming off the work policy and have them pay for our Medicare premiums legally, saving them and us both. Gotta pitch that to the boss soon.

Our agency vehicles have gas cards, and matching the per-program cost to the total invoice for booking the bill can get hairy. Just yesterday, I created and tested a prompt to upload the report, do the calculation and give per program subtotals that tie out to the invoice total. Tested it on prior months, and it works!

Did use it to set up a database app to consolidate a bunch of spreadsheets I use, but haven't gotten the OK from the boss to roll it out, because the (younger than me) woman who would stick with paper for ALL processes has objected...

Will do more to help with my work tasks as I find the time.

An older woman from church follows RU football, and doesn't use a computer. The newspapers that covered it are out of business. So, I have ChatGPT pull a report and a blog entry, print them and give them to her at church.

Have solved some problems with my computers. The best was the "fast start" in Windows was crashing the PC at random times. Turned it off, and no crashes.

I'm pretty ignorant about cars. Been able to help the son with a few issues with his car, and even a couple with mine.

Using it to help get me off the ground with a couple things I'm setting up. My Digital Wrap Designs (AI wrapping paper) site has a lot of descriptions created with AI. Need to get to marketing the site... have an outline AI provided, just have to push myself to do it.

Yes, I do use AI to either get list ideas, or generate the list items from my ideas, or (rarely) both.
