This list is in response to the CORE Lies of Anxiety.

    1. C is for Collaboration

    Instead of competition, focus on collaboration.

    Collaborating with someone creatively is one of life's greatest joys.

    Even competition itself can be collaborative. If you play chess, you're competing against your opponent, but they're also collaborating with you. The only way to become a better player is by facing new forms of adversity. Together, you're collaborating on your development and understanding of the game.

    With the right mindset, every competition is an opportunity to collaborate. Speaking of...

    2. O is for Opportunity

    Instead of obligation, focus on opportunity.

    You should never feel obligated to do anything. You make your own rules.

    You're not obligated to attend the company Christmas party, but you have the opportunity to do so. You're not obligated to help your friend move his stuff, but you have the opportunity to be good friend and ease his burdens.

    There are few obligations in life. There are endless opportunities.

    3. R is for Responsibility

    0

    Instead of reaction, focus on responsibility.

    Responsibility (response-ability) is conscious. Reaction is unconscious.

    When you respond, you're aware and in control. When you react, you're on autopilot.

    Recognize that you have the power to remain in control.

    4. E is for Experience

    0

    Instead of expectation, focus on experience.

    Be honest -- you don't know what the future will bring. You can expect the worse and deal with the stress, or expect the best and deal with the inevitable disappointment.

    Experience exists in the present moment. Expectation exists in an imaginary future.

    Be present. Be focused. Experience what's real.
