The Power of No - Seventh: The No to "Me" - 3 Insights

Oh what different type of world we would have if we didn't have 7.9 billion stories of ME.
Look what she did to ME.
Look at how they treated ME.
I can't believe she treated ME this way.
He forgot about ME.
Me Me Me Me Me
My ME is superior to your ME so I win.
It's either you or ME and let me tell you something if it's not going to be ME.

    1. Surrendering is not giving up - surrendering is letting go.

The only thing that surrendering asks of us is a little willingness - That's it.
There's no need to know what we're surrendering to...
There's no need to know exactly how to do it...(we already know, we surrender every night we go to sleep)
There's no need to know why you are surrendering...
The experience of letting go - of surrendering will provide the answers to all of our questions and all is required is a little willingness.

Erykah Badu has a few lines in her song Bag Lady that are very appropriate to introduce here
"Bag lady you goin' hurt your back
Draggin' all 'em bags like that

    You can't hurry up
'Cause you got too much stuff

Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go

Even if we don't quite understand what surrendering is don't we want to let go of all the stuff we're carrying around?
Are the bags getting a big heavy?
Are you tired of being sad, unhappy, and unfulfilled all the time?
You carry it all - the debts - the failed relationships - the trauma of abandonment - the gimmicks - the propaganda - the child that's hooked on opiates - the thinking and believing that we know it all when we know nothing - the unfulfilled life

    2. The illusion of control.

How is it that we believe we control anything when we can't even control our thoughts.
Do you realize that humans are the most prolific killing machine on the planet?
We can go from zero to 100 in a heartbeat and if you haven't notice zero is a long way from one hundred.
How arrogant of us to believe that we can control anything when we can't even control how we feel about a person from one moment to the next.

We think we're in control until...
    Covid-19 happens
We're fired from a coveted job.
One of our kids is involved in a mass shooting.
There's a new president in office that we don't like.
Someone says we're unintelligent, unattractive or calls us out of our name.
Someone cuts us off in traffic.
Someone accuses us of something malicious that we did not do.
    The stock market falls unexpectedly.

We have the illusion of control because we live in a world where anything can happen to anyone of us at anytime and there's nothing you or I can do about it.

    3. The Universe is very giving - haven't you noticed?

    A question for contemplation.
This moment - Right now - What Do You Need That You Don't Already Have?
If we believe that the Universe has forgotten about us we're insane.
    Is your heart beating?
    Is the sun shining?
    Are you breathing?
Is there light where you are?
    Can you talk and walk?
Are you supported by a floor to walk on?
Did you have something to eat today?
Did the Universe ask you for payment for any of the gifts it bestowed upon you?
Don't get it twisted it - you are supported in ways you cannot even begin to imagine and if you really knew the myriad of ways you are supported it would be enough to blow your head off your shoulders.
You many not have what you want - what your ego wants (more trinkets - more things to so that you can say "look at me and how great I am" ) but you have everything you need.
