The Weekly Roundup
1. Busy weekends
Last weekend was busy but lovely. We had brunch at Beaumonts, celebrated a neighbour's birthday with cake, and did an emergency shop for someone. Later, we ate fish and chips and watched Home Alone!
2. A lot can happen in two years
It was two years since we moved from our old house in Lancashire to Derbyshire. So much has happened since then, it's quite incredible. I can't imagine living anywhere else now.
3. Autumn
I had an appointment in a nearby local village this past week. It was idyllic. The leaves were falling from the trees almost as if it was snowing. The sun was low in the sky, illuminating all the yellows and oranges. Just gorgeous.
4. Decluttering
We've decided to get a wood burning stove (our gas/electric bill has tripled) so we're making room for it and selling a few pieces of furniture. As always happens, once I start, I find other things we no longer need! Charity shop trip tomorrow!
5. Northampton
We were in Daventry on Thursday as Chris had a woodturning demo. He turned a lidded tea ceremony bowl which went down well.
