Things that Make a Space Pleasant
Whether you're interested in architecture, decorating, landscape design or simply want to imagine a 'happy place' for meditation or mental health exercise, here are some things to consider
Usually bright natural light is best. Dark or dim spaces can be good for resting but can get depressing. Leg room. Somewhere you can put your stuff, the ability to move around the space without tripping, stumbling or whatever. Flowers, ferns, whatever. The colours help and so does the extra oxygen Chirping birds, or if you've ever been in a pub where a cat resides you know what I mean. Unless you have allergies, in which case, the more pet-free, the better. Wood, Brass fixtures are nice. Maybe leather. Some carpets. It's about both colour and feel, or even smell. Music can create the right ambiance, but keeping out external noises and pleasant acoustics are important too. Water features make pleasant sounds and the negative ions generated by falling water can boost mood. A pond or pool can be nice too. A nice couch, recliner, bean bag, divan, bed, whatever. Cushions, blankets. I'd rather be a little too cold than a little too hot... how about you? I've never experienced a non-Earth field of gravity, but if I could, I imagine it would do a lot for the comfort I feel in a given space.
