Things You Can't Control, So Don't Let Them F* You Up
Feeling a bit out of whack, and a bit "out of control" with things going on around me. Nothing terrible, just discomforting today. Or the muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatories I just started up again with for my sore back.
1. Other People
You can't control them, only the way you respond to them.
2. The Weather
Have an umbrella and/or raincoat handy, dress warm when it is cold, listen for weather warnings and assume some degree of accuracy. And don't be playing golf in a lightning storm. Unless you're using a 1 iron, because not even G*d can hit a 1 iron...
3. Traffic
Re-learning this lesson with the sinkhole repairs going on along my way to work. And, the other way out of the valley we live in, from yesterday - https://dailyvoice.com/new-jersey/ridgefieldpark/tanker-hauling-7k-gallons-of-septic-waste-overturns-in-west-milford/. I'd say to just breathe... but that's not good advice if you're behind that truck.
4. Buttons
Especially the left hand cuff button. Seems like half my time dressing is getting that one to go through (my watch is on my left hand). And broken buttons when you have to do upstairs to get another shirt for work.
5. Doctors
Too many have selective hearing / interpretation. They know what's the matter before you've finished describing the symptoms. Nurses get it, and get it right much more often.
6. Politics
Yeah, you can "get involved" but it's like drinking water from a 5 foot septic pipe. Not for everybody.
7. More?
Probably, but these cover the waterfront (in my addled brain) for now.
