Thoughts on Christmas Day

These might get personal. I'll still share them in public, though. You may have something similar that you can relate to.

Thoughts on Christmas Day
Preview

    1. I miss our oldest son.

He ate Christmas dinner with us in 2017. Sixteen days later he died.

    2. You never know when it will be the last Christmas with someone.

I don't say this to be morbid. It's just that the holidays can get to be so routine that we miss the significance. In a way, the days themselves don't matter. They're just an opportunity to connect.

    3. Things are really different than when I was a kid.

    4. Who cares if the date is accurate?

    5. I hate the commercialism, but who doesn't?

    6. And yet, most of us wind up sucked up in the commercialism.

    7. Say or hear "happy holidays" and get over it.

    8. I love it that my 33-year-old son wears a Santa hat.

    9. I wish my 20-year-old disabled daughter could take part.

    10. Yes, there is a Santa Claus.
