Topics for Cartoons

I recently made a mind map of all the branches of creative work I want to explore. "Cartoons" have been on my to-do list for a long time – but so far it has stayed that way. I haven't really grasped yet what makes up the story or meaning of a good cartoon. Here are a few guesses.

    1. An exaggerated characteristic of a character, person, or group

    2. How does this character, person or group behave in a certain situation?

    3. The opposite of a preconceived notion or a different perspective

For example, a shark that is afraid of humans

    4. An interesting philosophical idea

For example, Tom Gauld's cartoon about Kierkegaard's statement that we live our lives forwards and understand them backwards.

    5. An attitude to life that deviates from the norm portrayed exaggerated or particularly succinctly

    6. Own quirks

    7. Punch lines from cabaret programs

In terms of content, there seems to be a large overlap between these two art forms.

    8. Particularly funny short dialogues from every day life

You have to keep your eyes and ears open to collect them

    9. Criticism of politicians, ideologies, religions, professional groups

    10. Messages and wisdom

And also mockery of alleged wisdom
