Ways I Can Improve As A Parent
1. Better Listening To the Lightning Kid
With his speech delays, it's hard to make time to really absorb what he's trying to communicate
2. Stop Doing Things For Them That They Should Be Doing Independently
3. Yell Less
4. Refrain From Sarcasm
5. Be Seen Reading Books
If I want them off screens more, I need to model that behaviour.
6. Teach Them Life Skills
As your kids grow up, make sure they're learning important life skills that will serve them well in the future. This could involve teaching them how to cook, do laundry, or manage their finances.
7. Be Seen Eating Fruits and Vegetables
8. Offer Choices Between Chores and Duties
Rather than a binary yes/no, "Would you rather empty the dishwasher first, or bring down your laundry first?"
9. Don't judge
Often kids are rebelling against their parents because of the judgments that their parents have made in the past. Kids often rebel against their parents because they feel judged by them.
