Ways to Improve the NFL

    1. No more Thursday Night Football

No more Thursday Night Football. Make Sunday the only day of the week football is played. The reason? Ratings. Thursday night games are always terrible in terms of ratings. They should just get rid of it and make Sunday the most important day of the week for football.

    2. No more Monday Night Football (sort of)

There's a great show on ESPN called, "MNF Countdown". It's hosted by Sal Paolantonio and he breaks down all the action from that night's game with other former NFL players and analysts. The problem is that there ISN'T any action because it's a Monday night game! So they just sit around and BS about whatever they want to talk about while occasionally showing clips from the game that nobody saw because nobody watched it.

    3. Have TWO games on Sunday

This way, every team plays twice during each season against every other team so there is some sort of balance between teams when it comes to scheduling.

    4. Expand rosters to 50 players

The NFL currently has 53 players on a roster but has 90 players dress for a game (47 active plus 3 inactive). That means 46% of all players in the league never get to play in a regular season game! Expand rosters to 50 so everyone can at least have one chance to play in a regular season game even if they suck or don't fit into their coach's plans for some reason. This will also keep more young players interested in pursuing an NFL career since they will be able to actually play instead of sitting around all year waiting for their chance (which may never come).

    5. Salary cap for coaches and GMs but not players

Since I am proposing expanding rosters, this would allow teams to spend more money on coaching staffs and general managers without having to worry about getting rid of good players due to salary cap issues. Teams who want to win would pay top dollar for good coaches and GMs but would also be able to keep their best players regardless of salary cap issues, which affects many teams now.

    6. Eliminate preseason games entirely and use those practices as regular season games instead so you can expand rosters further without increasing salaries too much (if at all).

This way, you could have 53 regular season games per team per year instead of 16 meaningless preseason games (or perhaps 8-12 depending on how many regular season games are played each week). Players who are fighting for spots on rosters or trying out new positions can do it during practice as opposed to wasting time with preseason games where nobody really cares anyway since these are not real games anyway but merely warmups before real games start later that month or next month depending on when your team is playing its "real" first game .
