What 10 Items Can You Not Live Without?
1. Glasses
After 15 years of wearing them full-time, they've become a part of my identity and I've embraced. Oh yeah, and I actually do need them.
2. Laptop/Computer
I like pen and paper, but I can't be as creative without it. And I actually need this, too.
3. Lace-up boots
Get me where I need to go all year-round.
4. Running shoes
Similar to the boots, but I can go anywhere with them and they allow me to take walks and run sprints
5. Uniball Jetstream pens
There are pens, and there are pens. This is the latter. I need to be a man who can write smoothly on paper.
Jokes aside, they use these at the bank. I've never used any that are this smooth and smudge-free.
6. The public library
Better than a home or WeWork office. Why? I can walk over to a magazine rack or pick up a book for inspiration. Seeing stacks of books around also reminds me that something intangible can become an actual physical thing in the real world that takes of space.
7. Sense of curiosity
Not a tangible thing, but I'm grateful that I have this. I'll never be bored, ever.
8. Ryan Holiday's book "Trust Me I'm Lying"
There is no book I've went back to over and over again since I first read it in 2014, like this one. The irony is I studied journalism at a big-name university, but I learned how the media really works from someone who dropped out.
9. "The Elements of Style" by William Strunk Jr.
The only reason why I came across this book was because I was helping someone with an odd job. It was influential to my career.
10. Headphones/Earbuds
You can consume media without these, but I really like the attention to detail and privacy they enable.
