What do I believe to be true that might in fact be completely wrong?
1. That God exists / does not exist
2. That a university education will automatically move me into the middle class
3. My religion ; right or wrong
4. That I have a superior intellect
5. That good will always triumph over evil
6. The policeman is my friend
This was taught to me by my mother , a daughter of and a granddaughter of a policeman. And she was right, the policeman is my friend. Without him I could not enjoy this peaceful abundant middle class life.
Only much later in life did I discover that if the policeman suspects you of a crime, or of being a hostile witness to one, then he is definitely not your friend
7. That if I give up 'yes sir' I will automatically get ' I love you'
That is probably one of the biggest mistakes a man can make.
Note that the biggest mistake a woman can make is thinking that by giving up 'I love you ' she will automatically get ' yes sir"
