What I learned about creating lists in NotePD after using it for 40 days

1. Not breaking my streak is the thing

I'm motivated by targets. Once I started creating a streak, I didn't want to break it. Some days it's been late when I've written a list, I've been tired and a couple of times under the weather. One day I wrote a list when I was in bed with a tummy bug because I didn't want to break my streak.

2. Some days any list will do

See above. On occasion, I've had to think how can I create a list today? I've listed favourite books and podcasts, music as relatively quick lists to create.

3. There's a brilliant community on NotePD

I didn't expect the community aspect of NotePD when I first signed up. I thought it would be a place where I created lists for my benefit rather than as part of a community. I love seeing familiar names pop up in my notifications, reading other people's lists and getting a sense of personalities. Lists are often an eye opener and huge inspiration.

4. Creating lists, even some of the quick ones, has made me think more about potential ideas

Trying to come up with a new idea every day has been a great practice.

5. List making is a useful writing practice

NotePD is a great place to try out ideas. My lists are mostly works in progress and a starting point for longer form.

6. My lists have been eye openers

Sometimes I’ve surprised myself by what’s appeared on a list!
