What is the best morning routine for James Altucher?

Just to show the use of AI on these lists: I entered the title above and asked the AI for the first give ideas. Which are the first give below. The second five is my actual morning routine. And I keep to a pretty strict morning routine every day.

Of the AI suggestions: I do numbers: 1, 2, 5. I usually don't eat breakfast and I don't take cold showers.

NOTE: not every list is "10 ideas for a business". I benefit from these types of lists also. It might give me new insights into my morning routine. Or a list of "10 things I learned from X", might give me new insights about what I learned simply by writing it down. This might give me ideas.

And also it's ways to experiment with different types of lists and writing. I also was curious what the AI would suggest for my morning routine and if it would suggest something very specific to me (which it didn't). Unless it thinks for some specific reason I need to take a cold shower in the morning.

    1. Waking Up Early and Exercising

James should wake up early and exercise for at least 30 minutes. This will help him to get his blood flowing and to start his day with some physical activity.

    2. Drinking a Large Glass of Water

James should drink a large glass of water as soon as he wakes up. This will help him to rehydrate his body and to wake up his brain.

    3. Eating a Healthy Breakfast

James should eat a healthy breakfast that includes protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. This will help him to have sustained energy throughout the day.

    4. Taking a Cold Shower

James should take a cold shower in the morning. This will help him to wake up his body and to feel refreshed for the day.

    5. meditating for 10 minutes

James should meditate for 10 minutes after he wakes up. This will help him to clear his mind and to focus on the day ahead.

    6. Reading

I try to read some good quality fiction every morning and some quality non-fiction. Often I read books related to podcasts I have that week.

    7. Writing And/Or Chess

Since I am writing a book on adult improvement, specifically my "comeback" in chess after a 25 year break, I study chess every single day in the mornings (about 3-4 hours) and Mon, Wed, Fri, I take a 2 hour lesson from a grandmaster. I wake up extra early on those days so I am done by mid-morning. Previously I would write every day. Now, on heavy chess days, I don't write.

The reasons I do this in the morning is that I think the most creative part of the day should be first thing in the morning. On the last idea of this list I'll write my "day routinte"

    8. 10 minutes of sunlight

Andrew Huberman suggests as soon as you get up, you go outside, get sunlight, and look at the horizon.

The idea is that there are dopamine receptors on the eyelids. Dopamine gets you excited for the day. And the morning sunlight sets your "circadian rhtyms' and is the strongest light for those dopamine receptors on the eyeids.

    9. "Daily Practice" stuff

In "Choose Yourself" I write about my daily practice: Every day: Physical, Emotional, Creaetive, Spritutal improvement. I describe 3 out of 4 of those above but not emotional. So in the morning I'll make some time for Robyn or a friend or a family member.

    10. The rest of the day

Mornings: Creative. NO computer. NO email. NO news. NO business. NO emails.

Noon until about or 4pm. Podcasts if I have them. Else some rest and reading.

Mid-afternoon to early evening: Business catchups. Business doesn't really require full mental focus every day. Some days, yes, but most days it's more about catching up and making sure the needle is not moving too much off course. So requires the least brainn activity so I save it for when I am starting to lose energy

Evening. Spend time with Robyn, eat dinner (usually my only meal of the day) and WATCH TV. I love TV.
