What Is the Worst Corporate Jargon You've Heard?

    1. "We don't have the bandwidth."

Translation: We don't have the time.....or we just really don't want to accept any more work.

    2. "I have a hard stop at 12 pm."

Translation: The meeting scheduled to start at 11:00 am must be over by 12 pm, as I have a commitment at that time that I cannot get out of.

    3. "Think outside the box (and other variations, like “step out of the box,” an “out of the box” idea, etc.)"

Translation: to explore ideas that are creative and unusual and that are not limited or controlled by rules or tradition To solve this puzzle, you'll have to think outside the box.

    4. "Please feel free to cascade."

Translation: Please share this information with your colleagues, peons, and clients.

    5. "Moving forward"–and its close cousin “going forward”

Translation: From now on, you are forbidden from clipping your nails during the remote weekly management meeting.

    6. The customer journey

The complete sum of experiences that customers go through when interacting with your company and brand.

    7. Digital Transformation

Translation: Digital transformation is the adoption of digital technology by an organization. Some organizations do this at a faster pace than others. For example, I once worked for a boss who dismissed any news that came from blogs. Unsurprisingly, that company was very resistant to change.

    8. Touch base

Translation: briefly make or renew contact with someone.

    9. Value

Translation: Value (as in value-add, driving value, value proposition, corporate values, or value drop)

    10. Scope Creep

Translation: Projects have a tendency to increase in size and complexity over time.
