My ideal retirement spot wouldn’t be a community all jammed together. It would be a camp house retreat lodged in the Croton Breaks. The house would have a big patio overlooking the scenic breaks with nice big mesquites for shade.
1. There would be a shed with a metal roof close by with water cisterns inside to hold the rainwater from the roof. This is backup water with gravity flow to the house.
2. We would have a generator for backup electricity.
3. There would be conventional electricity and a water well.
4. We would have tv and internet, of course.
5. And chickens with a fenced yard to stop the coyotes and fixes from killing them.
6. Neighbor? Yes, about a mile or two away.
