What’s To See At The Top of Vancouver?
Looking from above gives you an overall view of how a city works
1. We Are A Port City
We have extensive shipping routes to The pacific rim.
2. We rely on tourism so we leave space for view lines
It's a pretty city on a sunny day
3. We have a 1001 acre park called Stanley Park in the heart of the city
The park has s seawall around it for biking and walking with stunning views of snowcapped mountains.
4. We have 2 large cathedrals in the core of downtown.
This is The Holy Rosary Catholic Cathedral with a massive pipe organ inside
5. I worked in this office tower in the middle for 3 years and watched seaplanes landing outside my office window every day.
There is also a heliport to the right and a cruise ship terminal to the left and a rail line beside it
6. This is the Lion’s Gate Bridge, bridging Vancouver and North Vancouver
The bridge has 2 lion statues at the entrance and strands of white lights strung along the sides and looks so pretty at night as ships pass under it.
7. These pictures were taken from a revolving restaurant called The Top of Vancouver
It's on the 28th floor. We don't have high buildings like you see from The Empire State building in New York.
8. The food buffet at the revolving restaurant keeps coming around to you!
There were brunch foods like mussels and lobster and roast beef snd eggs benedict
9. The city has no highway running through it, so traffic and parking are a problem.
It is best to take transit like Skytrain (a driverless above ground train) or seabus or an Uber in the downtown core as parking often costs $35 for a few hours when a big event is on.
10. Here is where the seabus sailing from The North Shore to Downtown travels and you walk a covered ramp to The Canadian Pacific Station
