Who are the best thinkers of all-time?
What do I know , I can only put forward those I've experienced
The thoughts of Great Thinkers are only any good if they get put into practise and get acted upon
I've excluded religious figures such as Jesus Mohamed and Buddha
A lot of thinkers I've mentioned could be seen as mythical characters did they actually exist
1. James Altucher - because he's the only thinker/ writer whose had had such an influence in my life. Choose yourself is such a powerful message He is the only though I've ever truly followed the advice for any length of time (7 years)
Because of his influence I am still alive breathing and doing .
James has been a gateway to life long learning through experimentation through his books blogs news letters and especially the pod casts
Great Thinkers such as James are humble and don't pretend to be the source of all knowledge
2. Aristotle an ancient Greek dude whose ideas are still around after 2000 years
Don't know what the thinking was but they dominated for years
3. Plato another ancient Greek dude whose ideas stuck around as well
Don't truly know what ideas but again they stuck around for centuries
4. Socrates the third ancient Greek who thinks with 2&3 dominated the West
5. Confucius - whose saying hold sway even to this day
His eastern proverbs still hold sway
6. Epictetus - the stoic included him as this thinking has been championed by Ryan Holiday
There thinking isn't just historical it's so relevant to this day and age
7. Marcus Aurelius - a awesome Roman emperor whose daily meditations match the words of Mark Anthony provided by Shakespeare
8. William Shakespeare - because thoughts can only be expressed by words and no one brought this forward than him
Especially when you see Shakespeare as a creative breaking new ground and not as flogging a dead ancient form of English language
9. Karl Marx - because of the scale of the adoption of his ideas probably half the world is still under the yoke
It doesn't mean they are sucessful
10. Florence Nightingale - because she put her thinking into action and brought compassion into the profession of healing
