Late with this today... an easy list to keep the streak intact. Or is it?
1. Morning banking
Download transactions for main checking account, credit cards, debit cards.
2. Main checking account reconciliation
A real bear for April, for some reason. Got it fixed, but threw me off for the rest of the day (so far)
3. Wife Called
About the church daycare Quickbooks - her May invoices were "lost" and she'll have to re-do them.
4. Draft Memo About 401(k) for new employees
Advising they are "opted in" and have to opt out if they don't want it.
5. IRS Letter
Our new payroll service made a late tax deposit... think it was because of how they process manual checks. No penalty, this time. E-mailed service rep to review / advise / confirm it won't happen again.
6. April Financials
Knocking off the number of tasks to get these done by the middle of next week. If I'm lucky.
7. Scary Flyer
Mail brings a flyer from a company that says their service will let you mail a postcard to anonymous website visitors. How do they get the address? And, some folks better hope that p*rn companies don't use this service!
8. Letter to Client's Parents / Guardians
Electricity in NJ is apparently going to go up as much as 20% starting June 1. We reset our utilities bills as of July 1. Since our homes don't have separate electric billing for each room, we charge each client a pro-rated portion of the overall estimated cost.
We want to tell them this is coming, and that we're looking into new vendors to mitigate the increase.
9. Budget - Fiscal Year 2025-26
If I can get to it, want to work on the 'other than personnel' expenses. Personnel (75%+ of our budget) is complete.
10. Filing
Am way behind on this... maybe I'll get to it today?
11. Get this done before the boss gets in, lol!
