Write A Story About The First Concert You Attended

Late summer 1978, was a great time to be a 13 year old. My best friend and I had spent the day at the Carowinds Amusement Park just outside of Charlotte NC, and after a full day of rides and wishing we had the courage to speak to Jr High Girls, we met my Sister in the parking lot for a ride home. The Park had recently added an amphitheater, with the idea being you could catch a concert after visiting the park. Hard to believe now, but it was 10 dollars admission for the park, another 4 for the concert. My Sister said she had heard of the band playing, and suggested we go. She ponied up the 8 dollars for me and my Buddy (I am certain I didn't have an extra four dollars) and in we went. Beachy looking guy on acoustic guitar, piano player, and another on the bongos, playing Country Music. Bongos and Country, I couldn't believe it. But what I remember most was the crowd. Everyone loved the band and were having an absolute blast. . My sister talked about the show all the way home and for weeks to follow, even went out and bought his latest record. The album she bought? "Son of a Sailor" , the artist? Jimmy Buffett. Not a bad first concert.
