10 books that have changed my life (and may change yours too)

I read on average several books a month and I believe it's a superpower that anyone can develop. If you think about the book writing process, individuals download their years or decades of knowledge into a book that you can then download into your brain in a few hours or less. What a return on investment!

    1. Choose Yourself by James Altucher (yes he's the one that created this site and inspired me to write 10 ideas every day). Also would recommend Reinvent Yourself by James though it didn't have the same impact on me as Choose Yourself.

    2. The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. As Robert says, power is not in itself good or evil but it is important to understand how people gain power, how people lose it, and the rules that govern it. Also recommend any other book from Robert.

    3. Total Recall by Arnold Schwarzennegger. How did a boy from Austria grow up to be Mr Universe, a highly paid movie action star, governor, and now the face of climate action?

    4. The Book of Beautiful Questions by Warren Berger. I thought having the answers was what leaders did. Then I later realized that it's about the questions. And in particular, asking the right questions. Which ones? This book will tell you.

    5. Poke the Box by Seth Godin - no book has been as instrumental to getting me off my lazy butt and stirring me into action.

    6. The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod - this is the book that got me on the path of incredible productivity. It all starts with creating a morning habit of SAVERS.

    7. Tools of Titans and Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferriss - jam packed with short tactical advice - I read this at various times in my life and get something new (and insightful) each time.

    8. The Coaching Habit by Michael Bungay Stanier - great advice on how to be a better coach. Be lazy. Be curious. Be often. His book The Advice Trap is similar and elaborates on how to give advice.

    9. The 80/20 Principle by Richard Koch - you may have heard about the 80/20 principle - that you can get 80% of the results with 20% of the effort but Richard takes it further into work, investments, daily habits and more.

    10. Replay by Ken Grimwood. I don't read a lot of fiction, but this book I've come back to time and time again. On the surface, it's about time travel - what would you do if you could do things over again? But it goes deeper than that.
