10 things to do to make your day count
Days go by quickly - case in point - what did you have for breakfast two weeks ago? One week ago? A few days ago?
1. Learn something new
My latest goal: learn some sign language so I can communicate with others
2. Track your activities
I typically like to log the things I do - not just for time tracking purposes so I can bill my client later but also to remember what I did
3. Have 'milestone' events
For example, having vacations coming up or special events in your life make the time more memorable
4. Read
Linked to learning something new but also helping you enjoy the moment
5. Have a special day of the week
Lots of people enjoy Fridays because it marks the beginning of the weekend. I like Thursdays because it's close enough to the weekend.
6. Put it in your calendar
If it's not in your calendar, it didn't happen.
7. Do something extremely boring
8. Breath slowly
Do you notice how when you are stressed, angry or frustrated, that your breathing is a lot faster? Slow down your breath to slow down time.
9. Meditate
Be mindful and present
10. Enjoy and live the moment
Sometimes it's about putting your phone down and making sure you enjoy the moment
