10 Tips to create a great first podcast

    1. The Best Platforms Are Free

    0

When I first launched my podcast Strategic Possibilities I was paying $300/year to host my podcast and manage it and keep it on some platform and it was terrible. Now I just use Anchor and it distributes to all the major channels for free!

    2. Hire a Professional to do your intro

    0

I hired a friend who is a professional voice over actor and music artist to do the intro for my podcast and it was well worth it!

    3. Find an Easy Name

    0

I have a podcast called Strategic Possibilities but I always have this doubt in my head that its too difficult to remember. Maybe I could have spent more time to think of a simpler name to get rid of that doubt.

    4. Learn affiliate Marketing

    0

Easy way to have instant commission based advertisers is by finding affiliate products to promote.

    5. Use a script those first few episodes

    0

I wrote out a script for my first episodes because I was so nervous about how I would sound and read it word for word.

    6. Record Video and Audio

    0

This way you can put them on YouTube and your podcast

    7. Try alternatives depending on your plan

    0

Youtube wants in on the podcast game. Also, Anchor is a great platform for podcasting and video. Substack is launching a podcasting format. Know what you want to eventually do and try out different platforms. Although I would recommend Anchor for ease of distribution.

    8. Listen to a few other people's podcasts

    0

Find some podcasts you like and learn from their "voice" and interview or talk style and try to pick up some skills.

    9. Don't overthink it

    0

I know people who have talked about starting podcasts for years and still only have a couple episodes. Don't let it take too long or you'll get to it at a point when you might regret how long it took.

    10. If it's not that bad, don't worry about it

    0

I didn't have an editor for my podcast and I would interview people who were very nervous and constantly had filler words such as um uh like so... I still use filler words. I used to edit every single word to make the speaker sound as awesome as possible. But unless its really bad, it's probably not a big deal and doesn't need that much editing.
