10 ways to sell a data & analytics service to small businesses

I love how specific this challenge is!! Been in sales for 6+ years, SMB & enterprise and I have a few small ideas

    1. Say "build for the business you want, not the business you have"

    2. Own your data

    Don't outsource your data to large companies. At some point, if you want to grow, you must own that data and be the expert in it -- ESPECIALLY if you are a local business

    3. Can you sell analytics services to real estate agents?

    Agents generally are the most locally active, have the most reliance on data, and generally speaking have a decent income

    You're in healthcare -- so small dr offices would also apply. But target the office or business managers not the Drs themselves

    4. Case studies - create them for SMB

    5. find local restaurants or coffee shops - ask for recommendations there

    6. Demonstrate how the big data companies will eventually put them out of business if they don't own their analytics

    7. Be a teacher, challenger and expert in every call
