3 steps to lead any meeting or conversation to constructive, positive, energizing outcomes!
Our mind is a follower.
It follows the prompts, the environment, the triggers. We think that we have little control over how people enter the conversation or a meeting, like, it’s gonna go where it wants to go.
It isn’t true.
When we change people’s state, their first thoughts and ideas, the direction of their thinking and feelings - we have the power to completely re-design where the interaction goes.
Don’t leave it to chance - design for it!
Use these 3 simple prompts to get to the best possible outcome in ANY interaction.
*I teach it to all teams I work with. I start every conversation and coaching session with a version of these.
1. BREATHE TOGETHER TO SYNCHRONIZE
Studies and data show that people’s breathing synchronizes when they are “on the same wavelength”, when we are collaborating, when we have a meaningful connection.
The beauty of it?
It works the other way too.
When we synchronize our breathing we turn on collaborative mode where we work together not against each other.
I recommend doing exhaled-focused breathing together - to also turn on rest-and-digest, logical thinking, thriving mode, to make decisions from a positive state.

2. START WITH INTENTION QUESTION TO DIRECT THE MINDS
Questions we ask prompt our brain to move into a certain direction. Our brain is a problem-solving, solution-seeking machine. When we ask a question, we activate the search for specific information and we can’t help ourselves but think about that exact question.
"What is the intention
What's the purpose
What are we trying to achieve❓"
This will direct everyone's mind to the same vision and you’ll get to learn what everyone purpose for this interaction actually is VS guessing about it.
3. FOLLOW UP WITH THE ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT QUESTION
To start off on the optimistic, creative constructive note - to get to the best outcomes faster.
"What's good, funny and/or useful about the state/situation right now❓”
Each participant has to come up with any 3 things that come to their mind - no bad ideas here!
What does it do exactly?
It helps you to think of all the good about the situation, prompting the mind to think of how you can build on that VS falling into a pattern of complaining and negative thinking that rarely leads to better places.
