7 Powerful ways to show up for yourself daily

I’ve worked in the hospital for a short period in my life as a health worker and run night calls/shifts.

Hated losing my sleep at the start and when I finally left but every time I think about it – there’s was something to learn from showing up:

Except we were sick ourselves, 99% of the time – we showed up. It didn’t matter if it were exceeding 12 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours of straight work.

Not because we liked the feeling (we were not Navy Seals) looking forward to suffering but because it was what we signed up for.

It was doing something beyond us. Most importantly, it was service to humanity.

    1. Pushing yourself daily to take action

Push yourself daily and build healthy habits that can help you reach your best potential.

If you’re never pushing yourself – you’re not going to leave your comfort zone.

You’re never gon’ know exactly what extent your mind can reach.

    2. Being Present

Showing up daily shows you live in the present and are confident of the future.

If you’re trapped by the past you can’t show up daily – winners who show up daily live fully in the present.

    3. Being Consistent

Take for example, the writing game. Seth Godin believes that nothing like ‘writer’s block’ exists.

    "Write something. Then improve it.
    Then write something else.

Repeat the process until you have a post.
There’s no such thing as writer’s block.

There’s simply fear of bad writing. Do enough bad writing and some good writing is bound to show up.”

    4. Developing the right mindset

Work on developing the right habit, right mindset, show up every day to your goals and vision.

Always remember you’re competing with no one else but yourself. Its You vs you

    5. Doing it anyways

Tired? Scared? Uncertain about the outcome? – Do it anyway.

Just about everything you do easily now was once difficult to do.

    What made the difference? Practice.

The more you practice, the easier it will get. It’s what moves you from:

    Fear→ confidence
    difficult → easy
    incompetent → competent

    6. Staying Committed & saying no to interesting opportunities

Commitment shows you’ve made the decision yourself.

Don’t commit to things and people you don’t care about just to please them.

Be an Essentialist in making commitments –showing up daily is about keeping commitments – starting from yourself by following through on what you say you’re going to do.

    7. Never giving up

Don’t give up because you haven’t started seeing the results you expect. Don’t give up because you think you can no more make it.

Winners never quit and quitters never win.

You show up for yourself because you accept yourself, support yourself and love yourself
