How to learn new skills and stick with it.

    1. The next time something needs fixing with your home or vehicle. Give it a shot.

The worst-case scenario is that it will still be broken.

    2. The next time you want to throw some clothing away; find another use instead.

Why are you wanting to throw it away? Does it need mending? Can the material be used in another way?

    3. Identify a need that you have. Then figure out how to get it without spending money.

You may learn a new craft. Or maybe learn the skill of barter. Or maybe learn that you didn't really need it after all.

    4. Grow something.

It doesn't have to be a massive garden or even a kitchen planter full of herbs. A simple house plant on your desk will do to start. Having living greenery in our spaces can be beneficial in many ways. Once you can successfully keep a houseplant alive it is time to expand to ever more diverse types of plants and growing techniques.

    5. The satisfaction of success with any of these small steps release the dopamine and endorphins that make you want to do it again.

    6. Take an online course in a new topic (AI)

With the abundance of online courses available, it's easier than ever to learn a new skill or topic. Take advantage of this and enrol in a course that interests you. It could be anything from learning a new language to coding or even cooking. The key is to choose something that excites you and challenges you.

    7. Start a side hustle (AI)

If there's something you're passionate about, why not turn it into a side hustle? Whether it's selling handmade crafts or freelance writing, starting a side hustle can be a great way to learn new skills and make some extra cash. Plus, it can be a lot of fun and give you a sense of accomplishment.

    8. Join a group or club (AI)

Whether it's a book club, hiking group, or a sports team, joining a group or club can be a great way to learn new skills and meet new people. You'll be exposed to new ideas and perspectives, and you'll have the opportunity to learn from others who share your interests.

    9. Teach someone else (AI)

One of the best ways to solidify your own understanding of a topic or skill is to teach it to someone else. Whether it's a friend, family member, or even a stranger online, sharing your knowledge and skills can be incredibly rewarding. Plus, you'll likely learn something new in the process.

    10. Challenge yourself (AI)

Finally, don't be afraid to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Whether it's trying a new hobby or taking on a difficult project, challenging yourself can be a great way to learn new skills and grow as a person. Just remember to take it one step at a time and celebrate your successes along the way.

    11. The next time the boss or anyone else asks to do something you've never done before, say YES!

You'll be motivated to succeed and most likely will. Even if the outcome isn't perfect, is will be far better than what you had ever done with this task before.

    12. If you are going to stick with something, it is almost mandatory to have two seemingly contradictory things happen:

    a) Understand and admit to yourself that your first attempt will most likely end up short of success.

    b) You have to find satisfaction with small accomplishments almost immediately. If you don't, the likelihood of you sticking with it decreases dramatically.

    13. Good Luck.
