how to make new friends in a new place

1. join clubs of interest ( on line or in person)

2. find activities you enjoy and go do them . You will meet people with same interest

3. experiment on new ideas and places. You might find a new interest

4. meet your neighbors. Go Introduce yourself

5. join clubs for the parents of their Childs school...whether it be elementary to college

6. take a class or course near you

7. go on any 23 and Me or other ancestry sites and locate distant relatives

8. get involved with charity programs and volunteer

9. get involved with local politics

10. make friends through your spouses friend's spouse

Love ideas # 1 and #2. A couple of things I did that helped me meet new folks: see if there's a local BNI (Business Network International) chapter in the new place and attend a meeting or two. Attend a good karaoke night and sing. You will stand out and people will introduce themselves to you.

#6 is important. You don't even have to like the class. Take a tango class to meet people (rather than Tinder). Or a book reading.
