Idea List of The Day! Embracing Orthogonality!

Another episode of Idea List of The Day on The James Altucher Show! This time around, we have @randomroger 's list! This was a fun one too, and we talked about our own experiences when we were going against the crowd!
Listen to the full episode here:
I was introduced to the word orthogonal by Mark Baker ( @guruanaerobic on Twitter). I've lived this way for a very long time but the word provides a great articulation. Basically it means to know when to not go along with the crowd, realizing that the crowd can often be wrong, disastrously so on occasion. To be orthogonal to society is to set out to do your own thing regardless of what others think.

    1. Quit your job

Baker says this all the time as does James Altucher. Take that how you want, years ago I took it to mean be self employed, working from home setting your own schedule, not having an alarm clock, not punching a time clock and as the catalyst for me, wanting to ditch the daily commute to work. Sitting in traffic seems like the biggest possible waste of time. Thank God for the internet.

Thanks for this guys!

A couple of things. First low carb has been studied extensively. I too was prediabetic, like the Mayor but I prefer animal protein. Here is a list on Twitter I curated if you want to learn more. Carbs are the only macro nutrient that the body doesn't need.

Quitting your job, definitely a runway of time needed or at least I would suggest to figure out how to create income streams.

Mysteries @Mysteries
Just putting this out there, for what it's worth...

Indeed, you can reverse (and cure) diabetes on a low carb diet. But speaking from personal experience working with patients, you can also reverse (and cure) diabetes on a high carb diet as well.

You can reverse diabetes with a vegan diet. You can reverse diabetes with a non-vegan diet. You can reverse diabetes without eating (much) fruit. You can reverse diabetes while eating fruits.

In fact... there are hundreds of (natural, drug-free, medicine-free) ways you can cure diabetes.

What I'm more surprised about is that... lots of people today still think diabetes (and cancer, and AIDS, and every other "malady" out there) is incurable and requires lifelong medication.

It's not.

The key question is not so much whether it can be done or not.

They key question is... which of these hundreds of ways is optimal for maximizing life span, health span, and physical youth at the same time you're using them?

And the answer is...

Anyways, I'll just keep quiet now. Because it's actually illegal (literally) to be talking about these things and I don't want to get NotePD shut down. Lol.

Great list and podcast by the way!
