    1. I am not really a fan of their output so I don’t feel a lot of connection with their issues.

I can't believe anyone gets paid to make shows like "Young Sheldon" but I guess someone is watching.

    2. It is not like they are meat packers or tomato pickers or mine workers striking for better work conditions

    3. AI is here to stay. Master it or get left behind.

    4. Be better. Get paid more.

    5. There are so many opportunities outside of Hollywood to make a living creating content: go do that.

    6. It reminds me of the Luddites that broke the automated looms that spun cotton. Their jobs have changed overnight and they are not ready to accept it.

    7. There will be a lot of white collar jobs that get upended by AI and very quickly: there are no factories to build. AI is here now and will be twice as good in about a year or less.

    8. There will be a platform like substack for video very soon and YouTube is an alternative as well: use that and produce your own content.

    9. Any business producing creative content (books, movies, music, tv, wallpaper designers) has been permanently changed.

One of the talking points is negotiating residuals. It would be nice to get paid fairly. However, the wave of content over the last few years is becoming a tsunami. In order to have any income you will probably need to have a direct connection with your consumer like a Substack or Patreon situation. There is so much content being produced every day that each piece is less  and less valuable.

    10. In the same way that the increased minimum wage caused fast food restaurants to automate faster, this strike and ones like it will increase AI use in media production and it will just move out of union states like California.
