My Favourite Weight Lifting Exercises

    1. Goblet Squat

    This seems like the most functional way to squat, where you're carrying something close to your chest (as opposed to overhead, or at your sides).

    2. Bulgarian Split Squat

    Besides pistol squats (too hard) this seems like the best way to get that single leg work in.

    3. Bent over row

    This feels like the most functional way to work out the big back muscles, besides the pull-up which is too hard to do.

    4. Bench Press

    A classic, he-man, muscle-head exercise.

    5. Lateral Shoulder Fly

    I avoid overhead lifts due to shoulder problems, so this is my go-to shoulder exercise.

    6. Dead Lift

    0

    The main practical "lift something heavy" movement. Knowing how to do it properly means you don't get injured when lifting heavy objects.

    7. Bicep Curl

    0

    Biceps are the quintessential show-off muscle, and this shows them off when they get pumped up.
