For instance, if you are selling a course on how to write better copy, tell them why you started writing copy (what was the first thing you wrote) and what prompted you to keep improving (what made you go further). Like I said, people like buying from people who are in their industry so they can relate to where they came from and what their struggles were.

Let's say I'm selling a course on chess improvement. I might start off by saying, "I've been playing chess for over 20 years now." Or if I'm selling a course on investing, I might say something like "I used to be a hedge fund manager for XYZ hedge fund before starting my own investing firm".

Tell stories about your past failures so people know that even though this product might not fail them, there's always room for improvement because nobody knows everything about anything (and also so they know that even someone as successful as yourself has had failures).
