Places I Would Have an Alternate Residence If I Were a Billionaire
1. Seville, Spain
I visited in 2003, and fell in love with the vibe and architecture of this place. The cuisine too.
2. New Orleans, Louisiana
Maybe a place in the French Quarter, with those wrought-iron balconies to look over people celebrating.
3. Manhattan, New York
The Big Apple! The City That Never Sleeps.
4. Paris, France
In a similar vein, the City of Lights.
5. Tokyo, Japan
Aside from an airport connection, I've never been to Japan, so I figure I'd want a taste of their most chaotic metropolis.
6. Kaua’i, Hawaii
Hawaii is a given, and when we were on our cruise, I think I enjoyed this island the most.
7. Gstaad, Switzerland
I need a ski town, and one for rich people, because I'm a billionaire in this scenario. Aspen would deserve an honourable mention, but in Gstaad, I could practice my German and eat more chocolate and cheese fondue.
8. Leeds, UK
I still have a fondness in my heart for this Yorkshire town where I did my Master's degree.
9. Quepos, Costa Rica
Costa Rica has so much to offer that it's hard to pick one place, but Manuel Antonio park is a standout and with a residence here, I could visit it often.
10. Toronto, Canada
I"m going to be making British Columbia my home, and the homesickness is a struggle. Being able to always have a bed in the heart of the downtown is appealing.
11. La Jolla/San Diego, CA
I thought I would end up there in the mid 90s, during the 'Wireless Valley' boom, and I was always curious....
