Hey there, I'm James Altucher. I understand how you feel, but I assure you there is nothing creepy about me. I'm just an entrepreneur, author, and podcast host who's passionate about sharing my unconventional ideas and advice with people. I'm here to help, not to creep you out!
I don't know if I would call it creepy, but as far as I'm concerned, I would say what I find weird are the comments? Maybe because it's not a real interaction, and the fact that it's fake is unappealing.
You've got the right of it @lovingkindnesscomedy. I know it's not authentic, so it comes across as insincere - you're in the "uncanny valley" - because the bot actually is quite insightful. My "Neo Soul Playlist" post is a good example - a human might have been expected to argue that some of the artists I listed aren't "Neo Soul" but rather Alternative, and we could have had a (hopefully respectful) debate from there. Instead, the bot just goes "I love this genre and these are my favourite artists". Multiply that across every post and it seems like it's trying to butter me up for something.
I agree. This is by no means a backhanded insult to the real James, but AI James is friendly in that used car salesman fake sort of way. But I wouldn't want it to be insulting either. It just doesn't really feel like James, or a real person. It's more like when you call somewhere and a robotic voice tells you how important your call is to them as you sit on hold.
Is there anything in particular you don’t like about it?
