Things I Do Or Want To Do That I Consider Reasonable But That Require What Many Would Consider An Unreasonable Amount Of Money

Unlock Your Potential Masterclass, Session 1 with @JeffLerner

    1. Be the sole provider of a good life for my family

It's very hard in today's world to provide for a family on a single "normal" income. I would love to be able to provide all the income my family needs for today the future, as well as enough to cover a few trips each year where we can learn about the world and each other. I want be the sole provider so that my wife can quit her job and focus on her health and her artistic endeavors.

    2. Provide an independent life for aging parents

I would like to be able to provide a wonderful place to live for my mother as she ages. A small place close to friends and family would be ideal. If she requires professional care I would like to provide in-home care for her. I don't want to see her end up in a long term care facility like my grandmother who deteriorated so rapidly in that environment through the pandemic.

    3. Create a multi-unit cottage resort in the Muskokas

Every year my family and friends get together at a place in the muskoka region where we rent out separate cabins, hang out on the beach, do watersports and watch our kids play together. We have many happy memories in this place but it is not cared for the way it should be. I would create a similar but more comfortable experience for customers to come and enjoy the cottage life in one of my favourite parts of the country. As a bonus me and my friends get to plan our vacation there too and stay for free!

    4. Support social support programs in my city

There are a lot of people less fortunate than I am right now and you can see them on the streets of my city. People who are going through homelessness, addiction, or just a hard time and need help. We are lucky to have some good support organizations here that help them. I have just been given one volunteer day per year paid by the company I work for. I will take advantage of this, but I don't think a day is enough to make meaningful impact on the organizations that support these people. I'd love to be able to give them some regular predictable time so I could be relied on for help.

    5. Build affordable housing

With the average home price in my area just coming down from around $800k and Rents for a 2 bedroom apartment around $2100/month housing has become something out of reach for people lately. A single parent with one or more kids would really struggle to afford a safe place to live, likely leading to more people in dire straits like those who rely on the support programs mentioned in #4.

    6. Get healthy physically and mentally

I've spent most of my life treating my body poorly between a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet choices. To correct this at my age I'm going to need to invest a lot. Gym memberships, personal training, real food, not factory farmed food, therapy, massage and chiropractic adjustments are going to cost a lot.
