Ideas Post

Things I want to stop doing

    1. Less Technology

    0
Especially, social media(except NotePD!). Talking on phone is fine. Instead of Zoom, meet in person, if possible. Go for a walk and look up. See the trees, the clouds, the buildings, the birds.

    2. Being lazy - Regain my Drive

    0
As I age, I am less motivated by status/money/power. But, I'm capable of a lot more and need to get excited about achievement again. Any ideas?

    3. Eat too much

    0
Food tastes so good. Fasting helps and isn't that hard. But, it saps your energy. Workout more, but then want more food!

    4. Drink less (but it's fun.....)

    0
Alcohol in large quantities is obviously bad, but in small quantities allows great conversation and ideas to flow.

    5. Avoiding people (be excited again to meet new people)

I have a lot of faith in people, just not institutions. Hard to trust people you don't know. Have a very good small group of friends and family and more is a lot of work.

    6. Being pessimistic as I age (optimist at heart)

    0
    More about institutions.

    7. Being boring (keep trying new things)

    0
This is a big one. It is easy to get stuck in your ways. Try new things. Even if you don't like it, you at least gave it a shot.

    8. Wasting days (TIME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RESOURCE)

    0
As a former "high achiever" which is code for someone who is just busy, in the rat race, I often feel guilty on lazy days. If you are spending that time reading, walking, admiring, talking with those close to you - it is the opposite of wasting time.

    9. Being risk-averse (Take more chances)

    0
Always been very conservative in financial decisions. Go for it now and then. Take a calculated risk and be ok if it doesn't work out.

    10. Procrastinating (seize the day)

    0
Can do a better job prioritizing things that need to get done. Big believer that the 80% is the most important, so focus on that and give less attention to the rest.

#2 I've rediscovered how driven I am by competition. Maybe do something where the drive of competition can jump start your engine? If you are motivated by it.

I can relate with #2! I just can't stop eating sometimes. Also, I feel lazy to exercise. I hope it goes the opposite lol.

I have issues with #10. I am guilty sometimes with procrastination.
